About
YDI is a luxury coffee brand that brings Caribbean flavor to consumers' everyday lives. With added Caribbean fruit essences, the brand that was born in the heart of Ydelline (founder) brings the best of the island of St. Martin, her homeland, to Europe, starting with Amsterdam. The brand's name comes not only from an abbreviation of the founder, but also works as an acronym for "You Deserve It", with the promise of enabling moments of luxury and self-care amid a busy routine.

YDI é uma marca de café de luxo que quer trazer o sabor caribenho para o dia a dia do consumidor. Com a adição de essências de frutas do Caribe, a marca nasce no coração de Ydelline (fundadora) com o intuito de trazer o melhor da Ilha de São Martinho, sua terra natal, para a Europa, começando por Amsterdam. O nome vem não somente de um abreviação da fundadora, mas também como um acrónimo para "You Deserve It", significando possibilitar momentos de luxo e self-care em meio de uma rotina corrida.
Concept
The main challenge in designing the brand was to translate seamlessly the combination of luxury with the Caribbean lifestyle. After many studies and tests, the materialization of the idea came through the use of Art Deco elements, expressive illustrations of the island foliage, and the colors of the Caribbean culture. The combination of these concepts opens an opportunity to be a part of the life of entrepreneurs and people in a daily rush.

O principal desafio na concepção da marca foi traduzir de maneira natural a combinação do luxo com o lifestyle caribenho. Depois de muitos estudos e testes, a materialização da ideia veio através do uso de elementos Art Deco, ilustrações expressivas de folhagens da ilha e de cores presentes na cultura caribenha. A combinação desses conceitos trouxe uma singeleza para tratar de um café que busca ser um parceiro no cotidiano laborioso de empreendedores com uma rotina corrida.
Queen illustrations
The inspiration comes from Cleopatra - one of the most intelligent and prosperous power figures in human history. Through this choice of illustrating a queen in many forms, it would demonstrate power, serenity and plenitude. The intent is also to address the career trajectory of Ydelline, the brand's founder, who through entrepreneurship managed to build a solid reputation, and now embarks in this new challenge.

A inspiração vem de Cleópatra - uma das figuras de poder mais inteligentes e prósperas da história da humanidade. A escolha de ilustrar uma rainha em diversas formas demonstra poder, serenidade e plenitude. A intenção também é abordar a trajetória da carreira de Ydelline, fundadora da marca, que através do empreendedorismo conseguiu construir uma sólida reputação, e agora embarca nesse novo desafio.
